My mom put me into acting when I was 2ish and I got my first commercial (with Huggies pull-ups) when I was 2 and a half. From then on I went to a bunch of other auditions and did quite a few commercials and even got some small parts in a couple movies. However, I stopped going to auditions when I was 12 or so because I became very self conscious due to my looks. I was a very awkward tween. I was very shy and going to auditions didn't feel natural anymore. I would get a sore stomach before auditions and before the actual filming of commercials. I'm 17 now, and my awkward years are over. I've turned over a new leaf and my ugly duckling faze is over. I'm now a swan! :P Anyway, that's not important. I'm still a bit shy, but I'm thinking that going back to auditions would really help me with that. And, I want to be an actress. It would be a dream! And, I know plenty of famous actors/actresses are shy in real life. I'm not sure how I should go about this though. I'm pretty sure my old agency has new agents and I'm not sure how they would react if I randomly phoned them saying 'Oh, hi, I was with your agency 5 years ago, but I stopped to do other things.' I told my old agent that I wanted to take a break to focus on my school for awhile. Would they take me you think? I did get quite a few commercials when I was with them...Should I do some extra work before I talk to my old agency? There's another agency that my friend is in and she does some extra work every once in awhile. Would it help if I had some extra work on my resume before I talked to my old agency? If you know your old agents first find out if they are still indeed at that agency or if they've moved on, what agencies have they gone to. You can pick up a Ross Reports from a Samuel French bookstore which lists all the agencies and the movements of individual agents as they hop around.
I would also look into jumping in with an acting class or coach and certainly if the opportunity presents itself to do extra work, go ahead and do it. I assume your parents are going to support you in this as they did when you were an infant because you're still a minor so you'll need the support.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
