  • So, I've collected a few worms in a pot along with the soil I found them around. What should I do to keep them alive and happy? I placed old fruit in there. And I assume there are some dead bugs in their for them to feed on too. Should I change soil regularly.. water the soil regularly.. keep in cool area..

  • A library is a good place to find a lot of information about worm farming. DIY can be done as well, you need a temperature controlled room, a 4x8 sheet of plywood, 2x4's for edging and screws. The tools will be a saw and drill. You need to cut your 2x4's to fit around your plywood and you need to drill various holes in the plywood for drainage. Now fill your plywood box with a good soil mix and keep it damp BUT NOT soaked. Add your worms and feed them things like coffee grounds. Other food scraps can be fed, but they should be ground up to make it easier for the worms to consume. You want to be sure to check your farm regularly, worms will MULTIPLY very very quickly!
