Just recently im starting to mumble words or cant get the right word out...for example ill be trying to say "i ate that" ill say instead of ate....oat, at, eat ect.
i do have blocked ears (cold) so its hard sometimes, is it nervousness or what? please help thankyouIt sounds like a nervous thing. Since you are concerned enough to ask on here. Otherwise you'd probably just write "I've got a cold! Damn"
If it is due to a cold, it'll right itself.
Either way, chill out, it'll return to normal.
(But if you are lisping your Ss, I'd say your tongue is swelling, grab an epi-pen)Mumbling could be caused by stuffed up ears. But the speech problem you describe could be a form of something called "aphasia". I think it's called paraphasia or something like that if you want to research it on the internet. I've had that problem for many years. Sometimes it's because you think faster than you can talk. Sometimes it's because you are bi-lingual and your brain is having difficulty switching back and forth between the 2 languages. That would also cause stuttering in some cases. Sometimes it's because you are nervous and unable to concentrate. Or you are tired and unable to focus. But sometimes, esp. with a sudden onset like that, it could be caused by something much more serious. If you can, you should get it checked out by a doctor. If you are embarrassed because it might not be serious after all - go to the doctor for your cold and then tell him while you are there about the speech problem.look at yourself in the mirror and say the same things you are studdering and say them multiple times and dont be freakishly nervous.
just try at home speech theropy and talk to yourself outloud, just make sure no one hears u they may think your strange. its probably just nervousness.
and if the mirrow test works say it to like your mom or dad or family and close friendsIt could just be nerves, but the best way to evaluate this situation would be to seek medical attention, perhaps from a speech therapist are your school?Plugged ears from a cold would not cause a speech impediment. If this has come on suddenly, you need to go to a doctor and have some testing done. There are brain injuries and diseases that can attack the speech centre as well as psychological reasons. Please go to the doctor and find out what is wrong, if for no other reason than to rule out anything serious.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
