what type of grain should i use for deer hunting with a 7mm-08?I typically use 140 grain. You can go lighter though. Probably down to 120 grains is the lowest I would usea laser beam.nice rifle I would stay any from much under 120 and any thing you shoot well with is acceptable 150,165,180,Dried corn works pretty well for baiting deer and hogs.Corn usually brings 'em in well, although if the deer are hunting with a 7mm-08 you have bigger problems to worry about.
For the rifle I'd suggest a standard 140gr load.I am 12 years old and I myself use a 7mm-08.I have killed 4 deer in three weeks and my dad always buys me the Federal Premium 140. grain ballistic tip cartridges. It is a good grain bullet.I have dropped 3 of my deer and one of those from 200 yds.All in all they are good bullets.
